Mutxamel (Muchamiel in Castilian) is a quiet residential municipality in the Alicante metropolitan area, just 10 kilometres north of Alicante city centre and less than 15 minutes from Alicante Airport. The town has a pleasant historic centre with a baroque church, and is surrounded by orange groves and almond trees in the fertile Huerta de Alicante plain. For visitors, Mutxamel is an affordable and relaxed base with easy access to all the attractions of the northern Costa Blanca — Benidorm, El Campello's beaches and tramway, and the historic city of Alicante are all within easy reach.
