Gandía is a city in the Valencia region split between an attractive historic centre inland and a long sandy beach — Platja de Gandia — 4 kilometres away on the coast. The old town holds the Ducal Palace of the Borgias, the Renaissance family who gave the world two popes and a saint, now a fascinating museum. The beach area is a popular summer resort for Valencians, with a wide, well-kept sandy shoreline. Valencia is 70 kilometres north on the AP-7, Benidorm is 60 kilometres south, and the scenic coast road through Oliva and Dénia connects the two. Alicante Airport is about 90 minutes south.
Credit card or deposit
Most rentals require a credit card for the security hold. Debit cards are accepted on no-deposit rates — select that option when searching on the site.
Before you drive away, check
The historic centre has paid blue-zone parking and underground car parks near the Ducal Palace. The beach area (Platja de Gandia) has extensive paid parking along the main beach roads in summer. Early arrival secures a good spot near the sea.
