在大加那利拉斯帕爾馬斯的汽車租賃比較、取車與價格資訊。
No-deposit options
About a third of cars in Spain come with no deposit hold at pickup - look for the "No deposit" badge.
Full insurance
Zero-excess cover available on most cars - nothing taken from the deposit if something happens.
Airport & city pickup
Desks at the airport and in the city centre.
Free cancellation
Cancel free on most bookings, often up to 48 hours before pickup.
City running is short and flat, but the inland roads climb fast. Pick by group size and how far you plan to drive, not by looks.
Economy
Cheap to run and easy to park near Las Canteras. Fine for two people staying in the city.
Automatic
Easier on the climb up to Bandama and the central peaks. Automatics are limited, so book early.
7-seater & van
For families or two couples sharing, with room for beach gear on the run south.
Luxury
A comfortable option for the longer coast and mountain loops. Deposits run higher on premium groups.
Las Palmas is the capital of Gran Canaria and the island's main port (LPA), so it is where many cruise and ferry arrivals start. Inside the city you can manage on foot and by bus - Las Canteras beach, Santa Catalina park and the old town of Vegueta are all walkable. The real value of car rental in Las Palmas is leaving the city: the south coast resorts, the central peaks and the north-west valleys are all a short drive once you have your own wheels.
Payment and deposit
When you book you pay only a small upfront amount - usually 15-20% of the hire cost. The rest is settled at the desk on pickup. The deposit in most cases is fully refundable, and about a third of cars in Spain are handed over with no deposit at all - those are marked in the results. If you only have a debit card, pick a no-deposit rate or a cash-deposit option: nothing gets frozen on your card.
The GC-1 motorway runs south from the edge of the city along the coast, with a limit of 120 km/h on the open stretches. The direct drive from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Maspalomas is about 58 km, around 39 minutes in normal traffic, putting Playa del Ingles and the southern resorts within easy reach for a day trip.
Inland is where a car earns its keep. The Caldera de Bandama crater sits about 20 minutes up from the city, and the central peaks around Roque Nublo are a winding hour or so further on the GC-15 and GC-60. The Agaete valley and the north-west coast are roughly 40 minutes via the GC-2. All of this is on Gran Canaria, and you can be back in Las Palmas the same evening.
Allow extra time coming back into the city in the evening - if you return a car here, the drive back can take up to an hour during evening traffic, so give yourself plenty of margin before your drop-off time.
The city is rolling out its first Low Emission Zone. The first zone is in the Alcaravaneras district, with fines of 200 euros for unauthorised access, though for the first six months the council only sends informational notices rather than penalties. The area covered is small - a single block bounded by Pío XII, Luis Antúnez, Pi y Margall and Ingeniero Salinas - and more districts may follow.
For a hire car this rarely matters. Cars rented on the island are modern and carry a DGT environmental sticker (0, ECO, C or B), which is what the zone requires, so a rental can drive into the centre with no extra paperwork. The ban targets vehicles without a badge - petrol cars registered before 2001 and diesel cars before 2006 - not your hire car.
Quick checks at pickup
City pickups cluster around the port and Santa Catalina, handy if you arrive by ferry or cruise into LPA. If you are flying in, Gran Canaria Airport sits on the GC-1 about 20 minutes south of the city, and many visitors collect there for the lower airport rates before driving up. Street parking in the central districts is metered, so a hotel garage or a public car park is the simpler option for an overnight stay.
Gran Canaria stays mild all year, so there is no off-season for driving. Spring and autumn bring quieter roads and easier parking than the summer peak, when prices climb and automatics and 7-seaters go first. Winter is the busiest stretch for northern European visitors escaping the cold, so book several weeks ahead if you need a specific car group. Whenever you come, reserving early is where the cheap rates are.
Yes. Las Palmas has a small low-emission zone in the Alcaravaneras district, but cars rented on the island carry the DGT sticker the zone requires, so a hire car can enter freely.
Check the windscreen sticker at pickup and photograph it. The restriction targets older, non-compliant private vehicles, not your rental.
About 39 minutes to Maspalomas in normal traffic via the GC-1, a distance of around 58 km. Playa del Ingles and Puerto Rico are on the same road.
Allow extra time on the return into the city in the evening.
A credit card is not always required - it is needed to hold the security deposit. At pickup the supplier freezes the deposit amount on the card: the money is not charged and is released when you return the car undamaged.
Without a credit card you still have options: choose a cash-payment rate (the «Cash» filter option) or a no-deposit rate, and nothing is held.
The deposit is an amount the rental company holds as a guarantee for the car. Road fines or damage can be deducted from it.
If the car comes back without problems, the deposit is released in full. It is a temporary hold on your card, not a charge.
It depends on the car class and the supplier - you can see the exact amount on each car's card.
You can set a maximum deposit in the filter and the catalogue shows only matching offers. The lower you set it, the fewer cars remain.
Yes. To see cars with no deposit, use the «No deposit» filter option. There are also cars with a small deposit or cash payment.
Note that "no deposit" means no hold at pickup, not no booking payment - a small upfront amount is still taken when you book. If nothing suits, contact our support team.
The deposit is the amount frozen on your card at pickup and released when you return the car undamaged.
The excess is the part of any damage you pay yourself even with insurance - anything above it is covered by the insurer.
In practice, damage is taken from the deposit up to the excess, so the deposit is often set to match it. A full, zero-excess policy removes both: you do not pay for damage and the hold is usually waived.
Cover comes in levels:
You see the available rates on each car's card when booking.
If you would rather not depend on the deposit and excess, choose the full rate.
Yes, some cars can be paid in cash - use the «Cash» filter option.
You pay a small upfront amount by debit or credit card when booking (usually 15-20% of the total), and the rest in cash at pickup.
Yes, paying for the car with cryptocurrency is possible - contact our support team to arrange it.
Taking the car by ferry to Tenerife, Fuerteventura or other islands must be agreed with the supplier in advance, and not all of them allow it.
It is often simpler to hire a separate car on the second island. If you plan a ferry, check the terms with our support team.
Yes. In the search, set a pick-up and a drop-off point - for example collect in Las Palmas and return at the airport or in Maspalomas.
By default the car is returned to the same place you collected it.
Most are manual, as across Spain. Automatics cost more and sell out first, so book one early if you need it - it makes the climb up to Bandama and the central peaks easier.
You need a passport, a driving licence and the rental voucher - the voucher can be shown on your phone or tablet.
It states the final price with your chosen options and insurance, so the amount due at the desk will not change.
To hire through our rental companies you need at least 2 years of driving experience.
