Santa Susanna is a small beach resort on the Maresme coast, 68 kilometres northeast of Barcelona, squeezed between Pineda de Mar to the south and Malgrat de Mar to the north. Despite its modest size, it is a well-established summer holiday destination, particularly popular with visitors from Northern and Central Europe who are drawn by its long sandy beach, reliable sunshine, and concentration of family-friendly hotels along the seafront. The promenade connects Santa Susanna to Calella (5 km south) on foot or by bicycle, making it easy to explore the Maresme coast without a car once you have arrived. The C-32 motorway is 5 minutes west for day trips north to the Costa Brava or south to Barcelona.

There is free parking on residential streets set back from the seafront. The main seafront road has paid parking in summer. A free car park is available on the northern edge of the resort near the access to Malgrat de Mar. Arrive early in peak July–August.
The C-32 motorway is 5 minutes west: Barcelona is 55 minutes south and Blanes (Costa Brava) is 10 minutes north. Calella is 5 minutes south. Lloret de Mar is 20 minutes north. Mataró, the comarca capital, is 30 minutes south. Petrol stations on the N-II and C-32.
