Guía de Isora is a quiet municipality on the southwest coast of Tenerife, stretching from the highlands down to the sea. The Abama resort — with its Michelin-starred restaurants and golf course — is the area's best-known landmark. The fishing village of Playa de San Juan, within the municipality, offers an authentic alternative to the busier southern resorts. A car is essential here; public transport is infrequent.

In the village of Guía de Isora parking is free and generally easy to find. In Playa de San Juan street parking around the port area is unrestricted. The Abama resort has its own dedicated parking for guests and visitors.
The TF-1 motorway connects Guía de Isora to Tenerife South Airport in about 30 minutes and to Adeje in 15 minutes. Mountain roads toward the interior are narrow — allow extra time when heading toward Vilaflor or Chío. Petrol stations on the TF-1; limited options in the village.
