Arona is a large inland municipality in the south of Tenerife, covering a wide strip from the motorway down to the coast. It encompasses popular resort zones — including Los Cristianos and part of Las Americas — plus the historic hilltop town of Arona itself. A car is the most practical way to move between the coast, the hills, and Mount Teide.

In the hilltop village of Arona parking is limited; use the municipal car park off Calle La Vica. Along the coastal strip (Los Cristianos, Las Vistas) paid street parking applies; blue-zone tickets from kerb-side machines. Shopping centres provide free parking for customers.
The TF-1 motorway links Arona to Tenerife South Airport in about 10 minutes and to Santa Cruz in around 45 minutes. Mountain roads toward Vilaflor are narrow and steep — take them slowly and use passing places. Petrol stations are plentiful on the coastal road; fewer in the hills.
