메노르카 칼라 갈다나의 렌터카 비교, 픽업, 요금 정보.
No-deposit options
About a third of cars in Spain come with no deposit hold at pickup - look for the "No deposit" badge.
Full insurance
Zero-excess cover available on most cars - nothing taken from the deposit if something happens.
Airport & city pickup
Desks at the airport and in the city centre.
Free cancellation
Cancel free on most bookings, often up to 48 hours before pickup.
Most driving here is the Me-1 main road plus narrow spur lanes down to the coast. Pick by group size and how far you plan to roam, not by looks.
Economy
Cheapest to run and the easiest thing to fit down Menorca's narrow country lanes and into a small beach car park.
Automatic
Simpler on the Me-22 bends into the resort. Automatics are limited on the island, so book early.
7-seater & van
For families or two couples sharing, with room for cool bags and beach gear on the cove runs.
SUV & 4x4
Higher ground clearance for the unpaved car parks at the wilder beaches. Deposits run higher on these groups.
Cala Galdana is a self-contained resort on the south coast, so you can have a good week without a car at all - the beach is a short walk from most hotels, and there are supermarkets, restaurants and boat trips on your doorstep. A car earns its place the moment you want to leave the bay and reach the rest of Menorca, where the bus only runs a few lines and changes in Ferreries or Mahon.
Payment and deposit
When you book you pay only a small upfront amount - usually 15-20% of the hire cost. The rest is settled at the desk on pickup. The deposit in most cases is fully refundable, and about a third of cars in Spain are handed over with no deposit at all - those are marked in the results. If you only have a debit card, pick a no-deposit rate or a cash-deposit option: nothing gets frozen on your card.
This is the one thing to understand before you book. Menorca has no road running right around its coast - the loop is the walking-only Cami de Cavalls, and for drivers the island is split in two by the Me-1 main road, with every journey branching off it north or south. Cala Galdana sits at the end of one of those spurs.
To leave the resort you drive up the Me-22 to Ferreries, about 8 km away, and join the Me-1. The Me-1 is an expressway rather than a motorway - there are no freeways on Menorca - and from the Ferreries roundabout you take the Me-22 down to Cala Galdana. The short bends are two-way with good visibility, so take it steady, especially at dusk.
The catch is that beaches close to you as the crow flies often need a long road loop. Cala Galdana is near several of the best beaches, but to drive to some of them you go back up to the Me-1, west towards Ciutadella, then down another spur - a five-minute hop in a straight line can take 45 by car. For the closest coves it is usually quicker to walk.
The headline trips, with rough one-way distances:
Day trips from the resort
Ciutadella and Mahon each have their own page on the site - this one stays focused on getting you in and out of Cala Galdana.
Cala Galdana has several parking options, including free public car parks near the resort entrance, but it fills early in summer because the beach is so popular. Arrive before mid-morning in July and August, or use the spaces up the hill near the supermarkets and walk down.
Two points for the wider coves. Popular beaches often have limited, unpaved parking that fills by 10am, and some coves such as Cala Macarella restrict vehicle access in summer, so you use a shuttle bus instead. Cala Macarella and Macarelleta are walkable from Cala Galdana on the Cami de Cavalls in well under an hour if you would rather skip the parking problem altogether.
Local driving tips
Most car hire for a Cala Galdana holiday starts at Menorca Airport, which is about 36 km and 32 to 40 minutes from the resort. The airport has the widest choice and usually the cheapest rates, and you collect the moment you land. The rental desks are on the ground floor of the arrivals hall - follow the signs for car hire once you clear baggage claim. Some local firms run a short free shuttle to an off-site office a few minutes away, so check your voucher for where to go.
If you would rather have a few car-free days by the beach first, you can also hire from an office inside the resort. There is usually at least one rental company with an outpost in the popular zones, Cala Galdana included. Picking up locally for the second half of your stay saves paying for a car you are not using.
The shoulder months of May, June and October bring the best deals; summer's supply and demand sends prices up and leaves fewer cars for last-minute hires. In the July to early-September peak, budget roughly EUR 45 to 80 a day for a short hire, dropping to about EUR 30 to 65 a day on a week or more. Whenever you come, booking a few weeks ahead is where the savings are, and an automatic in particular sells out first.

Menorca has no coast road - the loop along the shore is the walking-only Cami de Cavalls. For drivers, everything runs off the Me-1 in the middle of the island, so a cove a few minutes away in a straight line often needs a long loop up to the Me-1 and back down another spur.

A credit card is not always required - it is needed to hold the security deposit. At pickup the supplier freezes the deposit amount on the card: the money is not charged and is released when you return the car undamaged.
Without a credit card you still have options: choose a cash-payment rate (the «Cash» filter option) or a no-deposit rate, and nothing is held.
The deposit is an amount the rental company holds as a guarantee for the car. Road fines or damage can be deducted from it.
If the car comes back without problems, the deposit is released in full. It is a temporary hold on your card, not a charge.
It depends on the car class and the supplier - you can see the exact amount on each car's card.
You can set a maximum deposit in the filter and the catalogue shows only matching offers. The lower you set it, the fewer cars remain.
Yes. To see cars with no deposit, use the «No deposit» filter option. There are also cars with a small deposit or cash payment.
Note that "no deposit" means no hold at pickup, not no booking payment - a small upfront amount is still taken when you book. If nothing suits, contact our support team.
The deposit is the amount frozen on your card at pickup and released when you return the car undamaged.
The excess is the part of any damage you pay yourself even with insurance - anything above it is covered by the insurer.
In practice, damage is taken from the deposit up to the excess, so the deposit is often set to match it. A full, zero-excess policy removes both: you do not pay for damage and the hold is usually waived.
Cover comes in levels:
You see the available rates on each car's card when booking.
If you would rather not depend on the deposit and excess, choose the full rate.
Yes, some cars can be paid in cash - use the «Cash» filter option.
You pay a small upfront amount by debit or credit card when booking (usually 15-20% of the total), and the rest in cash at pickup.
Yes, paying for the car with cryptocurrency is possible - contact our support team to arrange it.
Taking the car by ferry to Mallorca, Ibiza or the mainland must be agreed with the supplier in advance, and not all of them allow it.
It is often simpler to hire a separate car on the second island. If you plan a ferry, check the terms with our support team.
Yes. In the search, set a pick-up and a drop-off point - for example collect in Cala Galdana and return in Ciutadella, Mahon or at the airport.
By default the car is returned to the same place you collected it.
Most are manual, as across Menorca. Automatics are available but in shorter supply and cost more, so book one early if you need it, especially in July and August.
You need a passport, a driving licence and the rental voucher - the voucher can be shown on your phone or tablet.
It states the final price with your chosen options and insurance, so the amount due at the desk will not change.
To hire through our rental companies you need at least 2 years of driving experience.
