Los Gigantes is a resort village on the west coast of Tenerife, named after its dramatic cliffs — up to 600 metres high — that rise straight from the sea. The marina is the base for whale- and dolphin-watching tours, and the small black-sand beach at the foot of the cliffs is one of the island's most scenic spots. The adjacent resort of Puerto de Santiago merges seamlessly with Los Gigantes. A car is the most practical way to reach this part of the island from the airport or the south.

Before you drive away, check
Free parking is available at the upper levels of the resort, near the commercial centres. The marina car park charges a small fee. Narrow streets in the lower village near the beach are best avoided; park above and walk down.
Los Gigantes is about 45 minutes from Tenerife South Airport via the TF-1 and TF-454. The road north toward Masca is extremely narrow and winding — check your rental terms before driving it; some insurers exclude this route. Petrol stations on the TF-1; limited options in the village.
