Santa Margalida (Santa Margarita in Spanish) is a quiet inland town in northern Mallorca, at the centre of a municipality that also includes the beach resort of Can Picafort, 8 kilometres to the east. The town retains a traditional Mallorcan character — a historic parish church, local market, and streets largely unchanged by tourism. A car is essential for connecting the inland village with the coast, the walled town of Alcudia, and the wide beaches of Playa de Muro nearby. Palma Airport is about 65 minutes south.

The Ma-13 motorway runs close by, connecting to Alcudia in 15 minutes north and Palma Airport in about 65 minutes south. Can Picafort beach is 8 km east. Petrol stations on the Ma-13; one in town.
